Acewell: Cold rolling and hot rolling of stainless steel pipe

Cold rolling and hot rolling of stainless steel pipes are common processing techniques used to manufacture stainless steel pipes for different purposes. The main difference between cold rolling and hot rolling is the temperature and processing.

1. Cold rolling:
- Low processing temperature: cold rolling is a processing process at room temperature, and the stainless steel plate is drawn and rolled after cold rolling.
- High processing pressure: Since the material is at room temperature during cold rolling, a large pressure needs to be applied to change its shape and thickness.
- High dimensional accuracy of the finished product: the stainless steel tube after cold rolling has high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface.
- Work Hardening: Since the material is deformed and hardened during cold rolling, it needs to be annealed to relieve internal stress.

2. Hot rolling:
- High processing temperature: Hot rolling is a processing process at high temperature, and the stainless steel billet is heated to a certain temperature before rolling.
- Less processing pressure: During hot rolling, because the material is in a high temperature state, its plasticity is better, and the required pressure is relatively small.
- Fast processing speed: The hot rolling speed is fast, suitable for mass production.
- Energy saving: Hot rolling generally saves energy compared to cold rolling due to higher processing temperatures.
